I began teaching at I.W. Evans in 1996, as a 5th grade Social Studies teacher. From 1996-2002, I taught: 5th grade Social Studies, 5th grade ELAR, 5th grade Math, 6th Grade Math. In 2002 I moved to Colorado and taught in a private school. 2002-2003, I taught 7th and 8th grade math and then in 2003-2004, I taught first grade. In 2004, I moved back to Texas and began teaching at I.W. Evans as a 5th grade English teacher. I’ve been teaching sixth grade math since 2005.
I have been married to Jerry Lewis since 2014. I have 2 adult step-children, Candace and Trey. Candace has blessed us with 4 grandchildren: Jaden , Avery, Emerie and Braelynn! Jerry and I adopted our daughter, Caylor, in 2014 and was able to bring her home from the hospital at birth. We live on a small farm in Savoy.
When I am not teaching, you will find me with my family and friends. We live in the country, where it is so peaceful,on the land where I grew up. I love going out on the pontoon to do some fishing with my family. I love fishing for catfish, perch, crappie, and bass, as long as my husband and father-in-law will clean them. My father-in-law is quite impressed with my fishing skills. I also love playing games with my family and friends like 42, Apples to Apples, Things, or numerous card games. My daughter, Caylor, and I love to snuggle up and read books.
