ALICIA LEWIS
I This year, I have left my comfort zone and am teaching 4th and 5th Resource Math. I’m so excited to take on this new adventure.
I began teaching at I.W. Evans in 1996, as a 5th grade Social Studies teacher. From 1996-2002, I taught: 5th grade Social Studies, 5th grade ELAR, 5th grade Math, 6th Grade Math. In 2002 I moved to Colorado and taught in a private school. 2002-2003, I taught 7th and 8th grade math and then in 2003-2004, I taught first grade. In 2004, I moved back to Texas and began teaching at I.W. Evans as a 5th grade English teacher. I moved to sixth grade math in 2005 and continued there until 2022.
I have been married to Jerry Lewis since 2014. I have 2 adult step-children, Candace and Trey. Candace has blessed us with 4 grandchildren: Jaden , Avery, Emerie and Braelynn! Trey and his wife will be blessing us with our 5th grand child in November. Jerry and I adopted our daughter, Caylor, in 2014 and was able to bring her home from the hospital at birth. We live on a small farm in Savoy.
My aunt, Morene Caylor, retired from teaching at I. W. Evans. My sister-in-law, Donna Cayor, retired from teaching at LHR and BHS. I come from a family of teachers and school administrators all over Texas. Teaching is in my blood.
When I am not teaching, you will find me with my family and friends. I love to read mysteries, go fishing, and playing games with my family and friends like 42, Apples to Apples, Things, Phase 10 or numerous card games. My daughter, Caylor, and I love to snuggle up and read books.
