Current Position:

I first started working for Bonham ISD in December of 2013 at I.W. Evans Intermediate School.  I teach K-6 at in the Behavior/Social-Emotional Classroom which is called T.S.S., (Transitioning Students for Success)

I couldn’t have asked for a better group of co-workers/friends.  The classroom would not be possible it were not for these 3 amazing people.  Mr. Farris, Ms. Wright, Mrs. Wheless and I have set forth to create a safe learning environment by eliminating distractions, modeling respect to students and each other, facilitating organization in the classroom so learning time is efficient and increasing time available to interact with academic subjects. Our philosophy of behavior management is that appropriate behaviors can be taught just as math or reading. We have provide students with many opportunities to practice positive behaviors, and work real-time social/emotional issues that arise throughout our day.  In the T.S.S. environment, we work towards being accountable for our actions, and appropriate corrective feedback on behavior is offered with guidance  from specially-trained adults.

Students have benefited from behavior management used in our classroom as it’s used to promote positive behaviors and encourage learning. Our students have the opportunity to learn, practice and develop social skills, experiences with group and cooperative activities, experiences with group and positive activities, learning behavioral expectations in different situations and strive towards meeting goals of following procedures developed for effective emotional/social growth that extends into their every day lives.   My Philosophy on teaching, and children in general is brought to you by Jimmy Johnson:

"Treat a person as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat him as he could be, and he will become what he should be."
~ Jimmy Johnson
